BIOGLUCOMIN +HA

Hyaluronic acid (HA) occurs naturally in high concentrations in the cartilage and synovial fluid in animals and humans where it has a lubricating and shock-absorbing function. Under increased load, such as hard training or in older horses, the amount of HA falls and the synovial fluid becomes more dilute. As the viscosity lessens, the synovial fluid loses its protective and shock-absorbing effect. Viscosity increases again at rest, but if the recovery time is too short, the joints are put under load at the next training session, which can result in damage.

• Glucosamine and Hyaluronic acid
• For older horses or during hard training
• 96-hour competition withdrawal time in Sweden

Description

Hyaluronic acid (HA) occurs naturally in high concentrations in the cartilage and synovial fluid in animals and humans where it has a lubricating and shock-absorbing function. Under increased load, such as hard training or in older horses, the amount of HA falls and the synovial fluid becomes more dilute. As the viscosity lessens, the synovial fluid loses its protective and shock-absorbing effect. Viscosity increases again at rest, but if the recovery time is too short, the joints are put under load at the next training session, which can result in damage.
HA is added to restore the viscous, protective consistency in the synovial fluid, thus protecting the joints.
There are specific receptors in the intestines which transport hyaluronic acid to the blood and on to the joints. The size of the hyaluronic acid molecule controls the effect in the joints, the bigger the molecule the better.
The hyaluronic acid molecule in Eclipse Biofarmab’s BioGlucomin +HA has very high, lasting quality and is 1 300 000Da in size, which is a very large molecule.
A daily addition of hyaluronic acid (with high molecular weight) in the feed of event horses has proved to have a positive effect on maintaining normal joint function.

Glucosamine is a substance made by the body and an important component in the formation of tendons, joints and cartilage. In older years or during hard training, the body’s own ability to make sufficient amounts of glucosamine reduces.
The manganese additive helps build up (form) cartilage. We have also added methionine, a source of sulphur which is easy to absorb and also necessary for building up cartilage.
The inulin used is a metabolic dietary fibre (prebiotic) that promotes healthy intestinal flora, providing the right conditions for good uptake in the intestines.
The glucosamine in Eclipse Biofarmab’s products is a natural substance with extra high biological uptake ability. We use European glucosamine of pharmaceutical quality.
Eclipse Biofarmab always tries to keep additives in our products to a minimum! This product is free from sugar!

Note that all feed supplements containing glucosamine have a 96-hour competition withdrawal time in Sweden!
