Vitamin E and Selenium
Animal
Häst
Material
Pulver
Organic selenium for better absorption
For well-functioning muscle function
Addition of inulin that improves absorption
APPLICATION
To be used when the nutritional content of the feed fails to meet the horse’s requirements. Particularly crucial for pregnant mares, as well as for horses under intense exertion.
Eclipse Biofarmab Selo-E contains Vitamin E and organically bound selenium. Organically bound selenium is more readily absorbed by the horse, a fact that is well-supported by extensive research. Additionally, the use of organically bound selenium minimises the risk of overdosing.
Selo-E also contains inulin, a natural plant fibre known for enhancing the absorption of the supplement. Inulin exerts a positive impact on the overall health of the horse’s digestive system.
Vitamin E is an antioxidant providing crucial protection within the body by neutralising so-called free radicals, which, if left unchecked, can cause muscle breakdown during physical exertion, as well as cellular damage. Beyond its protective function, Vitamin E is integral in enhancing oxygen delivery to muscles and aiding in the formation of blood vessels. It also contributes to the robustness of the immune system and is vital for maintaining fertility. The horse’s requirement for Vitamin E varies according to the feed’s composition, intensity of training, and the horse’s performance level. Pregnancy is another circumstance that eleveates the need for Vitamin E.
A deficiency of Vitamin E in a horse’s diet can result in muscle damage. Keep in mind that Vitamin E accumulates in the muscles, fatty tissues, and the liver. Therefore, it is crucial not to overdose.
Selenium, a vital trace element, plays a signficiant role in the physiological health of horses. It is a key component of the enzyme responsible for neutralising free radicals (byproducts generated during oxygen metabolism). Additionally, selenium is essential for the optimal functioning of the immune system, as it is crucial for white blood cells to effectively combat bacteria and other microorganisms.
Selenium interacts with vitamin E and they both complement and strengthen each other’s effect.
